Going for a band that I would actually like to hear, as opposed to an all-star mishmash of styles....

    Frontman: David Bowie
    Guitar: Prince
    Bass: Robbie Shakespeare
    Keyboards: Bernie Worrell
    Drums: Clyde Stubblefield

We can't put out a definitive list on any topic with a field so large. So it's pretty much a thread of personal favorites.

Interesting combo! Without Richard to plunk along with his saccharine keyboard arrangements, would be cool to hear KC unleash her awesome voice on some rock material.

Although I’m sure Eddie could play a rippin version of the “Goodbye to Love” solo!

This idea that Karen Carpenter was some kind of dynamic versatile vocalist .... ehhh, I just don't get it. She was a nice light pop balladeer, that's all. Nothing she (they) did could ever remotely be described as "rock."

She was also a percussionist. Listen to what Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon and Phil Collins have put down and tell me how that compares.

Can’t believe it took till page 2 for Prince to come up.

I’d love to see what some of our dear departed grunge singers (Cornell, Layne Staley, Shannon Hoon, Andrew Wood) could’ve done with guys like Cliff Burton and Randy Rhoads. Maybe with John Bonham on drums.
