Porsche's Michael Delaney blocking Ferrari's Erich Stahler on the final turn of the final lap of the 1970 24 Hours of LeMans in order to secure a victory for his teammate, Larry Wilson.

And then Ed O'Neill gave up the scoop of the century in the post-game.

Any of those 1980s movies where the two sororities would duke it out with a decathlon of bikini sports.

The 1973 Belmont, held at a hooterville harness track out in the middle of nowhere in front of a strategically packed crowd of 322, in which Secretariat won by 31 lengths when all the other horses in the field shifted into reverse, and the Assembled Youth Choirs of Harlem delivered a chorus of "Oh Happy Day" as Diane Lane dedicated the Triple Crown to Jesus Christ.

Making an assumption about "Draft Day," the time the Browns made smart picks in the draft.

Are we talking about as presented, or what it would be like to be there watching? Plenty of these were awesome movies, but would've sucked ass or been mildly interesting at best to attend.

The Guards vs. Convicts in "Longest Yard"?
Great movie, maybe the best football movie ever. But for fuck's sake, it was a semipro football game at a backwater prison in Florida. At most, it would've been a fun way to kill an afternoon.

Ampipe vs. Walnut Hills in "All the Right Moves"?
I suppose it was a decent high school football game with a memorable ending, but it was in Bumfuck, Pennsylvania with a terrible and unexpected downpour that would've made being a spectator miserable. I'll pass, thanks.

Haven't seen "Victory," but I have to believe there's a very real chance you'd have been shot if you witnessed it in person.

Probably plenty of others where being a spectator doesn't live up to the hype on the screen.

Don't be dissing Ampipe and its 6-2 Stack Monster defense. It will FUCK you up.
