I was thinking Iggy, but I think he's known more for his solo stuff than the Stooges. But defintiely on the list.

An 93, even Freddie Mercury wouldn't drink wine coolers!

Having seen U2 many times, I can say without a doubt that he's my No. 1. Guy is a pool of sweat after every show.

If Springsteen qualifies, then so does Petty. And both of them would fill my top 3. Petty and the Boss give you your money's worth EVERY time out.

Not saying he's the best, but Paul Rodgers needs to be mentioned...

Actually, Rodgers is one of, if not the top frontmen of his generation. I'd also say Ann Wilson over Stevie Nicks on the female side of things.

Britt Daniel from Spoon has to be somewhere on the list. He's a hard-working SOB on stage.
And I can't believe no one's mentioned James Brown. Guess he wasn't in a band, though. he didn't need one, why should he lose points for that?

    1. Roger Daltrey: His mic-twirling was truly impressive and creative, and his blonde mane and bellowing voice laid the groundwork for hundreds of imitators throughout the 70's. (i.e., Robert Plant, Peter Frampton).

    2. David Lee Roth: Mixed athleticism and marital arts with great presence and sense of humor rarely found with rockers. Unfortunately, gave birth to a legion of lesser imitators (Vince Neil, Bret Michaels, etc.)

    3. Mick Jagger: He couldn't dance or sing, but he spawned more copycats than any other lead singer in rock history. (Michael Hutchence, Steven Tyler, Axl Rose, Peter Wolf ... hell, even the guy from Psychedelic Furs).
