Mildly surprised no one mentioned Buddy Guy.

 

I’ve been listening to a lot of Van Halen lately.
Old….newish…..
If EVH isn’t Top 3, then the list just simply doesn’t exist.
The best is always subjective, but my “favorite” (in no certain order) is Gilmour, EVH, Clapton……a very very very under rated guitarist is Mark Knopfler.

 

I just skipped straight to the end of the thread.

It's Brad Paisley, followed by Vince Gill and John Jorgensen.

Call me when any of the rockers y'all fanboied over can handle chicken picking.

Not only is Prince in the running for top guitar player……he’s in the running for top musician period.

 

Most underrated for my money ... don't laugh ... Willie Nelson

 

Saw Thorogood a few months back at a casino in south Louisiana. Not bad, but not in my top 10. Clapton, BB King, Willie, and Derek Trucks are the best I've seen live.

 

I always loved the quote when Grohl was on Stern about Prince.
Stern: “Do you think Prince is a better musician than you?”
Grohl:”Dude……Prince is a better drummer than I am!”

Knopfler is probably my favorite. Just settle back and ride his groove ...

 

Not sure how one could watch this and say Clark isn't on the list.
