Nothing beats "Sweet Child O' Mine" for me.

Distant second is "Crazy Train" and "Iron Man," but I have to give an honorable mention to "Your Love," by The Outfield. To me, it's just differently cool.

It's his favorite band, which seems strange.

God, how I loathe this song. My wife and I are regulars in kraoke and she always wants us to sing this inane, mind-numbing song.

If we're down to Meat Loaf, it's shark time.

Death on Two Legs (Queen) is the one that came to mind first and foremost, along with Carry On, Wayward Son (Kansas).

For Whom The Bell Tolls and Fade To Black (Metallica).

While all these are instrumentals, the "intros" to each are excellent: YYZ (Rush), Black Star (Yngwie Malmsteen) and Cliffs of Dover (Eric Johnson).

Six weeks at No. 1 in 1979, with its famous intro and a wicked guitar solo, too.

The opening to Mott the Hoople's One of the Boys is hard to beat: the sound of a phone number being dialed on an old rotary phone, then when the "call" is picked up is where the band starts on the slowly-building instrumental intro.

Also, the very rarely-heard opening to Bowie's Diamond Dogs is epic.
