And I second the last scene from Pulp Fiction and the very underrated True Romance -- though the best scene in that movie is in the middle (Dennis Hopper).

Second your mention of Rounders, though. On one level, you get the sense he hasn't learned his lesson. On another, you see a guy who was dying a slow death without the thing he truly loved -- gambling -- and went through hell to get his passion back.
