Idaho, as a enthusiast for American folk food, I hope someday to visit that school for a football game.

I can tell you the worst. Indiana had this sandwich that had more lettuce than turkey. It was a grass sandwich. I am complaining because I had a flight canceled the night before and had to do the 3:30 am wake up call to Indianapolis day of. By time got to Blommington I didn't have time to eat. I went up to the box starving, and had freaking lettuce with a bun. Sorry for the rant.

Louisville only had cookies and sweets, but I vaguely remember beer being available after, so I won't complain. The cookies were good, but I am not a cookie guy.

This is a fine story, but leave out the food. There is plenty to work with -- blogs and travel, as you say, not to mention restrictions on player access, the rise of recruiting as news in and of itself, the need for reporters to become familiar with the local cops and D.A. and especially the growing emphasis on schools trying to cut out the media "filter" and deliver the "news" themselves. (At USC, Pete Carroll announced Matt Barkley as his starting QB on his blog.)

Keep the food out of it. It has no impact on our ability to report and write.

Had a first happen this week.
At Jordan-Hare, there was no coffee in the press box, said they didn't serve it "until it gets colder, later in the year."
    OK, no big deal.
So I went down into the concourse and was going to buy some.
None of the concession stands served it, either.
Not one bean of coffee in the whole stadium.

Luckily a very nice woman (and, I must say, every single person at Auburn was like the nicest person I ever encountered in my life) pointed me in the direction of the student center, as she said there was a Starbucks in there.

So I left the stadium, bought two coffees to get me through and came back in.

It was just strange. Other than BYU, can't think of a place that big without any coffee to be found.

I never have been much of a coffee drinker. Just a steady stream of Mt. Dew for me thanks.

Beer is indeed available at the 'Ville. The staff there is top notch.

I agree, and have fought for that. Not going to happen. They insist that the food angle appeals to those "moderate" sports fans and will keep them reading. You think you all hate this, imagine how I feel having to do it?

Since when did sports sections have to pander to the centrists?

Does the Oregon Electric Co. still cater Autzen Stadium? That was solid fare.

Michigan Stadium is absolutely atrocious. Not only is it a pain in the ass to maneuver in that piece of crap, the food sucks too.
