They'd shoot you in Texas if you put noodles in chili.

It's awesome. But I've never actually had one at The Brown.

IJAG, you don't know what you're missing.

Chili is meat a tomato base and spices. The end. Anything else and you're having soup. The long gone Richelieu in downtown Fort Worth served the best restaurant version ever.

Was way too lazy to get out of bed and post it last night, but one of the Food Network shoes (two brothers, one named Bobby or something) did a tour of New Orleans last night. They went to the aforementioned Zapp's plant, as well as Hubig's Pies plant.

Pretty good stuff to watch, especially the Hubig's part because I had never seen that whole process. They use completely natural ingredients, not filling.

You've pretty much hit the high notes (other than the Fuel City one, which I'm not familiar with). Also, don't forget the sausages and Pivo when you stop in West!

I get the same reaction in the south asking for unsweet tea.

They'd shoot me for telling them that Owensboro, Ky. is home to the best barbecue in the world too, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

Strangely, though, it's very hard to find sweet tea in New Orleans. No idea why, other than that a lot of things are just different there.

And before someone says "you can always sweeten your tea at the table," it's not the same. If sugar is added during the brewing process, it dissolves into the tea and gives it an almost caramel taste.

McAlister's and Milo's probably have the best sweet tea of the chain restaurants. As someone mentioned, Milo's is so popular, they sell it in gallon jugs in the grocery store.

Don't know if it's been mentioned already, or if it's even regional, but Moe's Southwest Grill has the best damn burritos possibly ever. Absolutely pwns Chipotle. Even better, it's cheap as hell. For $13, the wife and I had dinner and I had half my burrito (the homewrecker) left for lunch today. Free chips and salsa, too, unlike Chipotle.

Gravy on french fries, a specialty I learned from a boss who grew up in Saskatchewan.
