The Caribou Coffee site lists 11 in Colorado, 14 in Georgia, 59 in Illinois, 24 in Michigan, 20 in North Carolina, and a bunch in Ohio, as well as fewer than 10 in a bunch of other states.

It also lists 216 locations in Minnesota, so I'm sticking with my statement that the bulk of the franchise is still a regional deal.

Know of at least 2 Five Guys in North Jersey, one about a mile from me.

Five Guys is definitely national now, or at least far from being simply a regional/D.C. thing. Same with Caribou -- maybe a lot of them are in Minnesota, but I'd be hard pressed to call them a regional chain.

Now Graeter's and Skyline Chili? Regional and awesome.

I somehow never made it to Graeter's when I lived in Cincy. Skyline is awesome, though.

There's a few Five Guys in Michigan. Probably less than 10 and mostly (if not all) in the Detroit area.

Yes, Five Guys is everywhere now. They've built two in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in the last two years.

And there were a couple in the Huntsville area, too.

I had Five Guys on Saturday night. I always enjoy it during dinner, regret it after.

Anybody mention Shipley Do-Nuts in and around southeast Texas? They should. Best in the country, even better than ... dare I say it  ... Krispy Kreme.
