86 the onions, and I could get on board with that.

The cheese and the onions are the only things I might eat. My favorite Palestinian restaurant owner has harsh things to say about people who make hummus out of anything but the basics.

Somebody mentioned Portland's Voodoo Doughnut in this thread (EDIT: Or maybe another food thread). Well, my wife was in Portland for a conference late last week and brought back a few. Quality, especially the chocolate bar shaped like a voodoo doll (complete with raspberry jelly inside and a pretzel stick 'stabbing' him).

What I really loved was the box. Besides a great cartoon drawing on top "illustrating" how the doughnuts are made, the store's two slogans are "Good Things Come in Pink Boxes" and "The Magic is in the Hole."

    As I said, quality.:)

Black-bean hummus is the nectar of the gods.

There's a Voodoo one block from where I live and there's a line out the door seemingly 24/7.

I’m down in Virginia Beach and am loving a small chain called Cookout.

Burgers, dogs, chicken, typical grilled and fried stuff. But good and pretty inexpensive. $6 gets you a double cheeseburger with whatever you want, a drink or shake or float and two sides, and the list of sides includes cordogs and chicken nuggets

I was at Cookout in North Carolina yesterday. Love it.

It's almost time for Cookout's watermelon milkshakes, a summer specialty the wife loves.

  11. How do you go to a Cook Out and NOT get a milkshake?

    Heathens.
    Slack-jawed, stump-jumpin' Heathens.
