Schlotzsky's, before it went national, was a very good regional place. Ate there more than 100 times one year in college. Still eat at one almost every week.

Man, I miss this place. Mostly in Alabama and Georgia now.

If the DFW Metroplex qualifies as "regional," there's a chain of sports bars -- No Frills Grill -- we go to A LOT. When the kids were younger the five of us could eat (and MommaQuant and I could get one pitcher) for less than $30.

We are pretty much equidistant from two locations. Our less-preferred location is closer to our friends' house, but it's smokier (the smoke drifts in from the bar). On the plus side, Barry Corbin (War Games, Northern Exposure, etc.) is usually there playing trivia.

Raising Canes are popping up in Orange County and I saw a couple in Vegas.

If I walked into a Raising Canes right now there's a better-than-even chance I'd muscle past the cashier and bury my face in the french fries bin.

Gray's Papaya isn't great, but decent hot dog and good variety of drinks.

Edit: they're in NYC. looking at this thread realized lot of places don't mention location

Yep. There are better places to get burgers. Better places to get shakes. Better places to get hot dogs...chicken tenders. But I haven't found a better place that serves all of those like Cook Out.

    Plus, they serve fountain Cheerwine.
