buckweaver, I wasted at least one cumulative year of my life on Micro League Baseball.

I don't particularly regret it, either.

Good call on Micro League baseball. Forgot all about that one.

That's kind of what I like about Baseball Mogul. Being able to replay different seasons from the past and going year to year with those. Another cool feature is that when a player like Ted Williams comes along in the middle of your multi-year sim, a different team than the Red Sox could actually draft him.

Of course, if you start a sim with him on the Red Sox, he would stay there.

And you're right about the console games, usually just two old-time all-star teams. Although in MVP '05, it was kinda cool that you could play it in an old time nostalgia black and white type screen.

I do like Baseball Mogul, have played several demo seasons on that one and probably should get around to buying it one of these days. (In fact, I once played the 1985 season with the Orioles and Cal Ripken hit for the cycle on the exact date my sister was born (in Baltimore, no less.) ... I sent her the text file with the box score, but she, uhh, wasn't quite as impressed with it as I was. Oh well. :D)

I just wish a game with the historical appeal of Baseball Mogul would include the video/graphic and gameplay elements of all these other baseball games they've developed over the last 10 years. Old Time Baseball had that -- the gameplay wasn't great, but it stood up with all the other contemporary La Russa games. Shouldn't be too much to ask, but apparently it is.

If I could afford it, I'd fly to SoCal right now to buy you a case of your favorite and one for your girlfriend, too. Not because I did the same thing, but because if you lived down the block from me, I'd feel like I owed it to you for spending time at your place.

You think that's bad? Do you? Well, I also have a 21-page Word document filled with categories and answers to Family Feud surveys -- and added to it on Saturday. Take that.

Has anyone played Front Office Football? It's similar to Out of the the Park or Baseball Mogul, but the realism of the on-field action and off-season activities is Chris Rock in New Jack City addictive. I've had for a year on my laptop and it's a source of staying up wayyy late at night when you're trying to rebuild the Oakland Raiders.

I'm now on a Zelda kick. I can't get past Level 4, though.
