Life is fully of shitty coincidences like that, though, like when I got a flat tire on my way to a first date with someone. As far as the dead body in their apartment... That's their problem to clean up now. Not like Lalo cares.

So are we supposed to believe Lalo stumbled into the confrontation between Jimmy, Kim and Howard? Someone who lives for days in a sewer so he can scope a target doesn't notice that there's someone else yelling inside an apartment he's breaking into? Yeah, I'm with @Bubbler and am very disappointed with the episode.

*The one inside joke I just noticed when re-watching the shooting scene is what Lalo replies when Howard asks, "Who are you?" Looking over at Jimmy, he replies: "Me? I'm nobody..." which of course is the name of Bob Odenkirk's recent revenge movie.

You know? The more I got to thinking about it, the worse that scene becomes. It's a jump the shark moment.

Why? Because it starts to fuck with the Breaking Bad mythology too.

Why on God's green earth would Saul want to become Walt's fixer when he's scared off his tits to be involved with a drug dealer here? And for very good reason.

Granted, Walt at that stage of Breaking Bad isn't the Salamancas, but Saul sells Walt on making him into a player. After this experience? One in which Kim, at best, walks away from their relationship or gets killed? It doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Maybe they'll address that, but right now it makes zero sense, and when you fuck with Breaking Bad? Like Dre said, when you dis Dre you dis yourself.

Sort of related to this, they now also need to address why Fring trusts someone like Saul to be the go-between for Fring and Walt to hook up.

It's not like I'm going to stop watching. Better Call Saul is still better than whatever the Neflix Flavor Of The Month is, but it's disappointing. I expect better.

Does Saul know Mike and Gus are looking for Walt when he first becomes Walt’s lawyer? Is it possible Mike somehow saves Jimmy and/or Kim over the last 7 epps so hes indebted to them somehow?

As I recall its all initially presented as a coincidence becuase Jesse and his bozo buddies know the Better Call Saul commercials. Maybe it was all engineered by Gus after all? That kinda thing would be right up Gilligan’s alley

That was a thought I had earlier this week. We always thought that Walt sought out Gus. What if it was Gus who got wind of a new player in town and dropped the bread crumbs for Walt to find him, by relaying things through Mike who in turn relayed them to Saul, who in turn relayed them to Walt?
Gus would certainly have incentive to do it, both to keep tabs on a budding competitor and to make sure he didn't screw up his long game with the Salamancas (both of which literally ended up blowing up in his face, but still ...)

What I’m talking about is from the point Saul goes into Walt’s classroom on. That’s where he posits himself as a fixer with Mike having tracked Walt.

The Gus stuff comes later, but Saul is the one who is the go-between for Walt to Gus, which just feeds my point that Better Call Saul is starting to fuck up the Breaking Bad timeline without some further plot explanation. In Saul’s current predicament, why would he expose himself to the same kind of danger later?

Also as I recall Gus is only interested in Walt because the stuff is blue, chemically pure like his partners, which no one besides his partner had ever been able to pull off?

    Better call ... Carol Burnett??

A High School Student Called Carol Burnett. Carol Burnett Called Back.

So, what have you been doing during COVID?

Well, we’ve been kind of locked down. My husband and I live in Santa Barbara. We do crossword puzzles. We read. We watch television. We go for walks. We have a cat. Her name is Nikki. We named her after St. Nicholas, because she was born on Christmas. Tomorrow, we’re going to have brunch with some neighbors. But I’m still very careful. I’m also going to be working in August. I’m going to do a guest shot on Better Call Saul. It’s their final season. I’m in the last few episodes. It’ll be on next year. And then we’re talking about doing a movie with Julie Andrews, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and me. So, that’s kind of in the works. I’m assuming we would start that early next year. And how are you keeping busy?

She'll play Kim's mother. Book it.

Wow. Didn't expect them to resolve that plot thread that quickly.

Gripping, per usual, but Gus’s Spidey Sense is being driven past the point of credibility.

As for Kim? Well, she’s a witness now, a loose end. Gus knows that she knows he’s tied in with Tulo Salamanca and that won’t likely end well.

That was a Bond villain length of time toying with Fring. Didn't work for me knowing the outcome anyways.
