Based on that description the new Trentonian sports editor is the person you believe it to be. Although I didn't talk to him personally, I know he was advised by several people of the how it can be there and took the job.

    That's crazy talk.

How will it have enhanced his resume when he's looking for a new gig in 6-8 months when he's either fed up or fired? And how many folks in this business would see "The Trentonian" on a resume and actually be impressed?

If he stays 6-8 months, that would be longer than about 23 of the 28 sports editors since 1994.

Listing ANY JRC paper on your resume is roughly equivalent to mentioning your stint as Managing Editor of "Anal Sex Weekly."

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Aaron Bracy has been named sports editor of The Trentonian, a JRC daily in Trenton, N.J. He had been working on the sports copy desk at the Courier-Post, a Gannett daily in Cherry Hill, N.J., since October 2002. He previously was a sports reporter at the Trenton Times, and a freelancer for The Associated Press and JRC’s Main Line Times. He is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University and for five years was the head golf coach at Drexel University. He can be reached at abracy@trentonian.com.

Also, Rob Chakler has been hired as a sports reporter at The Trentonian. He is a 2006 graduate of Penn State and a past freelance contributor to www.phily-sports.net and www.visitnjshore.com.

    ... POOR SOULS.

  5. Well, at least Aaron Bracy can help his reporters with their putting.

A quick Google pulls up no bylines by a Bob, Rob or Robert Chakler. Just sayin'.

I don't think any JRC editors want employees coming into the newsroom with golf clubs, ball bats, hockey sticks, pool cues, croquet mallets or anything of that ilk.

What I am saying is that I never heard of the guy. And I can tell you that he didn't work on the staff of The Daily Collegian, either -- not that it makes or breaks a journalist or means he isn't talented, but what it says is that he has little experience, in all likelihood.

Unless, of course, he's too ashamed to use his real name when working at The Trentonian, due to the ridicule he may get.

Wick, there are some guys out there who, for whatever reason, paper doesn't put their stories out there. I understand where you are coming from though.

think in ... ohhhh ... three months, ol' bobby is going to have one of those life-altering, "what the fuck did i do?" moments.

i only hope he's an intelligent young man who owns a quick exit strategy.
