Jelenic has owned thoroughbreds for many years. He was spotted last summer up at Saratoga watching one of them run, er ... trail the field. Also in 2005 he spent a pretty penny at the sales ... five figures and up for young nags.

jelloneck owns the saratoga paper. from what i understand, he loves showing up every year for the horses and little league baseball tourneys.

Even though the subject matter is actually grim, this is a hilarious thread.

"Oh, let me swing by the office and pick up a few papers!" Nice business writeoff.

With the amount of coverage the Trentonian gives the little league tournaments there's no way he'd leave town at that time of year.

I refuse to believe Jellodic has "fun" at any event that doesn't include whipping children, or dumping longtime employees out on the sidewalk on their asses.

My own guess is he's into the horseflesh game for the sheer personal pleasure he can get from personally putting the pistol to Barbaro's skull, loading the carcass into the Bobmobile, then dropping it off at the Alpo factory, and collecting his 12 1/2 cents per pound.

Just like old times in the newsroom.

Sorry this post is so late. But DiRienzo...? Jackass. I worked for him in my final JRC stint, before he went corporate. This is a guy who, not only tried to cut my salary $1,000 AFTER he hired me as an SE, but wrote the nastiest letters I've ever received. No welcome aboard, not we can't wait to see what you can do. Basically, it read: get your head out of your ass and you suck, etc. And I hadn't even WORKED for him yet!!!!

Needless to say, and I posted this somewhere else, a few months later after he forced me to work 14 straight days, seven pages a night, not to mention covering late afternoon baseball games, all by myself, without any compensation, I got the hell out of there within half a year for a kick-ass writing gig. Giving him my two weeks was one of the greatest days of my life.

I mean, this dude, made no secret of his desire to jump to Trenton HQ. When he found out Jelenic was a hockey fan, started brushing up on his hockey knowledge so he could kiss the guy's ass when he breezed into town on one of his daily slash/burn blitzkriegs. THAT'S the kind of people this company hires for management. He's terrorized all of my former co-workers ever since.

Good freggin Lord. It's a wonder stock in this company has dropped 75 percent since October.

you've gotta change it to the 10-year chart to get the real effect.

i had the 5-year chart up when i linked, but it defaulted back to one.

either way, i think jelloneck is in trouble, big trouble.
