The going rate at the other paper in Trenton I believe is higher than $50 per story.

I give $50 per story and tell the stringers that their incentive to make big bucks every week is to cover as many games as they want.

  3. Maybe Aaron should try to dig up a freelance SE or ASE for 35 bucks a day. He'd save JRC $$$ and free up more time for him to write more columns.

In a metro area like Trenton, with the cost of living, the stringer rate ought to be $75 or even $100.

Oh well, same old JRC story. These pissant tyrants can never make a good decision because they don't even understand what the problems let alone how to fix them.

The only thing I'm curious about is where the hell is Rocky in all of this?

Nah. The Rocky I am speaking of would have thrown a garbage can across the room or broken a desk in half after missing deadlines like this.

Well, THAT'LL certainly speed up the deadline process. :D :D

And, of course, the guys who initial the pages are aware they're signing their own death warrants, aren't they?

You only do this for one reason: To identify people you want to fire.

More likely that DeRienzo wants to Bob that he's doing something about the sports department problems.

JRC has never had trouble identifying people it wants to fire.
