What part of missing deadline by two hours on a nightly basis do you not understand?

That's completely irrelevant to my point that people who don't even work there ripping into this guy with such venom look like petty creeps for doing so.

I got my check today. Thanks, Trentonian.

    No, it isn't.

Is too! Is too! Cripes, it's juvenile and sick to be so eager to pile on someone who didn't do anything to you personally.

How in the world could the fact that the department is missing deadline by 1-2 hours every night be irrelevant to the evaluation of his job performance?

Even if it could be, the guy deserves worse than he's gotten. Writing banal crap can be forgiven but proudly ascending to the throne of No.2 or 3 JRC ballbuster is a different story.

How about someone (hopefully one of the detractors) provide an outline of the "right" way to do this job. Draw up your ideal scenario. We've heard enough of the bashing, if you think this sports section is worth so much effort to monitor and rip daily, let's go. Tell us what the "ideal" sports editor would be doing. It's so easy to rip. It's a lot harder to offer thoughtful advice.

The venom isn't directed at Aaron. He's just the latest sacrificial lamb led into the butcher shop.

Altough he does seem to be dropping a few sheep turds on the way to the chopping block.

Figure out a way to get your Boss of Bosses to spend some quality face time with Luca Brasi.

  9. 35$? Subtract the 50$ for when the check bounces. Means, you actually paid them 15$ per story.

Sorry, you've got a skewed view on high school sports. There's nothing wrong with going out to watch a high school sporting event. Get your mind out of the gutter.

And I completely agree with Frank on the direction of this thread. A lot of people seem to be doing a lot of bitching without a lot of answers on how to fix things. And are really seeming to be getting their rocks off doing it.

PHINJ, you especially seem to be doing a lot of posting with one hand. Maybe if you could transfer some of this inner rage toward newspaper design, we could trade you to Wenalway for a copy editor to be named later.

Shot, that unfortunately is the way things are done around here.

  12. I actually asked another cat, I think it was probably boots, to post some positive news on the AB situation. I'd be interested to hear about positive changes or improvements, also. Maybe there's a reason nothing positive has been posted. I don't want to get into another debate on whether or not folks should be allowed to criticize if they like. Boots, Frank and I already sung that song.

As far as the high school games, you took my remark too seriously. Was just having a little fun. I agree with you. There's nothing at all wrong with enjoying a high school sports event.
