Pacman Jones had a long history of legal trouble. Roethlisberger does not. Jones was charged with a crime. Roethlisberger was not. Goodell is extending his power here and he is getting away with it because the player's union is extremely weak and nobody wants to be on the side of defending Roethlisberger right now.

Somebody made a great point a while back on this thread or the other one. If he really did rape that girl, the suspension is a joke because it isn't nearly enough of a punishment. If he didn't, it's too much. The commish is playing in the gray area here and setting a precedent he can use down the line.

So now it is a precedent? See, now that is a reasonable position. I disagree with you because I wonder where the line should be, but I absolutely see your point.

Again, 1963. Hornung, Karras. Suspended. For a full season. Not arrested. Not charged.

Here we go with the terrible comparisons again. Gambling on the game. Every league treats that like a special offense.

Not to mention the fact that you are reaching back 47 years for that one. Kind of a different league now. If you are going to drag something that old up, what about Leonard Little? He killed a woman while driving drunk. Went to jail for far too short of a time for it. Then, a few years later, he is arrested for DUI. The charge gets reduced and he avoids more jail time (talk about a failure of the legal system), but isn't that at least as bad as what Roethlisberger did? Isn't that a pattern of behavior that threatens the safety of others (something Goodell wrote about in his letter to Roethlisberger)?

Is it a fair comparison? No, because it was before the current policy was in place. But it is a hell of a lot more relevant than what you brought up.

A 47-year-old example that doesn't fit at all. But anything to feed your little obsession, right?

You might be the most thin-skinned person in the history of the Interbutt.

Piotr posted what was obviously a joke, and if you needed help comprehending that, the dozen or so smilies should have been an indication. But did you take the joke, maybe laugh a little (because it was funny) and move on? No. You flipped out. As usual.

Get. Over. Yourself. And yes, you are a fanboy.

I eagerly await your ad hominem response.
