Is that why Vick is still playing in the league? A federal indictment and a guilty plea and he still dons a uniform.

Ricky Williams? Didn't he go off somewhere and proclaim that smoking weed is the greatest thing ever? He's still playing.

Stallworth admitted to driving drunk and killing someone. Ray Lewis pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in a murder trial. Both still play in the league.

So basically your're saying the NFL is NOT like most businesses since they keep players who give the league bad publicity. And if that's the case, the Steelers should keep Ben...unless there are separate rules for my team.

The NFL is in the business of making money. If Vick and Williams and Stallworth and Lewis and Ben make money for the league, they will play. The suspension is to save face.

    Irrelevant. Different commissioner.

There's a new sheriff in town. And he would have suspended Little for a season.

Nothing from Tagliabue's era of impotent discipline applies here, except to say, "Wow, the NFL used to let dudes get away with whatever they pleased."

I'm neither wrong, nor have I had my feelings hurt, so I'll respond.

You're a whiny, thin-skinned fanboy. You do nothing except argue for the sake of arguing. And your presence in any debate results in one of three things:

    1. You're right, but you're right in such an insufferable way that it pains anyone to agree with you, so no one does, so the argument continues.

But since your being right is rare, that leads to:

    2. You're super duper uber-wrong. And everyone knows it and several people enjoy calling you on it, which you can't handle without responding with some sort of ad hominem attack (Reading comprehension; You add nothing to the debate, as usual; Translation, etc.). This continues until a thread is locked.

    This happens often, unless:
    3. You're super duper uber-wrong, but you do it in such an insufferable manner that everyone just rolls their eyes and ignores you.

This would be tolerable if you had a sense of humor or brought something else to the table. But you don't.

I'd also like to remind you that you're the only one to curse at another poster in this argument, i.e. "YouGottaBeFuckingWrong," so any half-hearted attempt by you to take the high road will be viewed as the hypocrisy it is.

Comparing Polamalu 2008 to Roethlisberger 2009 is a mistake. 2009 was the year of the concussion, when NFL teams began treating the injury like they never have before. Whereas Polamalu playing in 2008 didn't cause a stir, the same situation in 2009 would have created controversy after what happened with Portis, Westbrook and others. The landscape on that issue did a 180 during those 12 months, and for the better, too.

So, you at least admit that it was about public relations, not player safety, correct? Because that was my primary point.
