It now appears that Roethlisberger's "suspension" is nothing of the sort -- it means he can't play in games. Maybe.

    Otherwise it's business as usual.

Read it again. The suspension is the first four weeks of the regular season. In addition to not being allowed to play in the games, he cannot practice with the team during that time.

I don't understand what you are saying here. I must have missed something.

Goodell dished it out for no real reason. He could - though it won't happen - take it away with a simple press release.

"Suspended" means you don't put on the pads, you don't step on the practice field, you don't go to the film room, you don't enter the team building until the day the suspension is over.

The main thing this will do is protect Roethlisberger from injury until midseason.

This suspension is no different than any other suspension the NFL has ever handed out. When you're suspended four games, the suspension happens during the season. No one's ever been suspended four games, plus two mini-camps and seven film sessions.

Exactly. And taking him out for four games does a heck of a lot more than "protect Roethlisberger from injury." That's just ridiculous.

That's exactly what will happen when the suspension begins.

Enjoy sitting out all year, Ben.

Roethlisraper is treading into OJ territory. I don't care what they get him for, as long as he does the time he deserves.

Who in the world calls the cops because someone is peeing in the trees on a golf course? Seriously? And what kind of keystone cops respond to that kind of complaint?
