Alabama got a commitment from a JuCo d-linemen who is listed at 395 pounds ...

My question is, is he the heaviest player ever? As a fellow fat man, I figure if he's copping to 395, he's probably bigger than that.

I'm sure there have been a few NFL guys (Gilbert Brown, Lincoln Kennedy, that guy for the Lions a few years ago) who probably tipped the scales at 395 or more at one point or another, but I don't think any of them were ever listed that heavy.

On the plus side, this guy will no doubt help Alabama's run defense ... until he dies of a heart attack ...

I covered a HS player years ago who was listed at 6-9, 415. Couldn't move worth anything, but he was 400 easy.

    He runs a 5.5 40 at 395? I call bullshit.

Aaron Gibson, who was an OT at Wisconsin, was called the biggest ever.

How big is Phil Loadholt at Oklahoma? I think he's 6-9 360 maybe

I think he trimmed down this season. He looks a lot better.

One of my favorite nicknames of all time.

  11. Nope, the Lord of the Fries

And at our D-II school we had a DT listed at 6-3, 380. He's an assistant coaches at one of our local high schools now. He was easily 420 in college and easily pushing 450 now.

I once asked an SEC coach if he recruited The Round Mound of Touchdown.

"Yeah," he said. "Off the record, I thought he'd be a great center."
