ANY facet? Tell that to those who didn't have their bills paid for due to a "pre-existing condition".

And then multiply that $10K by however many employees are in the company. That seemingly small bump in pay for the CEO and the lower-rung employee can easily become a multi-million hit if the company is big enough. So the company keeps pay stagnant at the top, thus discouraging success. Why bust your butt to advance if there's a limit on the reward? Why do it to help the company succeed when you know you'll never see another dime?

  4. Baron gets to tell pro athletes to take a pay cut, because there is no way some low-paid team employee would get a big-enough wage increase to make the ratio even close to 10-to-1.

So if Tom Cruise makes $20M for his next movie, does the grip get $2M?

There isn't a limit on the reward. CEO can make as much as he wants. He just has to make sure the people making him that money are rewarded, too.

If anything, it might motivate the employees more. Generate more revenue, get more reward.

    $200
I've already said that 10-1 is not a very good ratio. I'm in favor of 100-1 for big businesses.

A-Rod makes $25 million, then the Yankees can afford to pay the clubhouse boy a pro-rated $250K for the season. If they don't want to do that, then they should be more careful before doling out those $25 million/year contracts.

It's often remarkable how people can be so smart in one area and so foolish in another.

I think Baron actually thinks the 100X1 ratio would work, and be a good thing.

    That's crazy.

Baron's an expert at divising an economy where no one has any incentive to be the best and everybody can enjoy a pretty good life by trying to accomplish as little as possible.
