Does Bill Simmons even mention Title IX in his column about fixing sports (specifically basketball)

You're just asking this for the formality of it all, right?

    Assumption would kick Simmons' ass.

  4. Damn, there's a lot of Worcester on this board. Who knew?

Lebanon College doesn't even have sports, but its artistic students would paint a picture of what it would be like to hammer St. Anselm's.

this thread sure became increasingly ridiculous with about 10 different tangents. Who knew I could learn about the most famous baseball players born in Rhode Island on a thread about Holy Cross?

It's not really Worcester unless you mention Tatnuck Square and George's Coney Island Hot Dogs.

Sure, but my life is complete now knowing Davey Lopes is from Rhode Island, which brings me to a memory.

I'm in Rhode Island one night with a buddy and we stop at a gas station. I ask the smokey hag at the counter which way to Warwick, enunciating War-wick. She did one of those smoker's cough-laughs, hacking up phleghm then swallowing it back down; YUMMY!

    WAR-WICK?! she said. It's not WAR-WICK. It's Wah'ick.

I'm from California, I told her, we E-NUN-CEE-ATE our words.

She laughed and said that I ought to pronounce it right next time, Wah'ick.

I went to the bathroom outside and pissed everywhere but in the urinal.

As one of the few RI'ers on the board, here's the ruling on Konerko - he's good. Anyone who was ever born in the state automatically counts as being a RIer. If you went to college here, you count. If you spent the summers in Narragansett or Newport on vacation, you count. If you lived here for one year or more, you count.

As for Simmons, I think he's more upset that he is this "big-time" sports columnist who didn't go to a big-time athletic school. That's where he's angry. Had he gone to a BC, UMass, something like that, he wouldn't care about Holy Cross and their basketball program.
Since he went to Holy Cross and they're never going to win a title again, he's royally pissed - and jealous of other schools.
