I mentioned Cosby because of the backlash he experienced for speaking his mind. I don't believe it was nor is the gospel.

Except for the fact that right under Bruhman's handle, there is a picture of him, and beneath that picture is says: Hi. My real name is Deron Snyder.

She didn't out anyone. Bruhman has made it pretty clear who he was from the moment he showed up here years ago.

OK. I stand corrected.

I even put the correction on the same page as the original error, which is more than most newspapers do.

first, and let me say this again, im am not a journalist or a writer. in fact, im a doctor. i can express myself quite clearly, but i dont have the gift that most of you have in putting that expression into words. if i were in whitlock's shoes, maybe i use "sadden" instead of "disgust" (paraphrasing, as i dont have the article committed to memory). perhaps, i use "our youth", instead of "those thug, gangsta, hoodlums, etc". look, we all know that there is a problem. and there is no need to shy away from it. i believe that the article wouldve served a better purpose. and i most certainly would have proposed a better solution than to send it overseas. but thats just me...
Anyway, Mavrick, you asked how Jason's column helped and I'll take a stab at an answer. It helped because it started very intelligent, honest discussion. It made people react. That's what a columnist supposed to do. If he uses "brothers and sisters," instead of the language he did, maybe people don't react the same. Maybe it's not talked about on your hip hop website you frequent.
we've talked about you, too. hahahaha. and there have been folks on both sides of the fence, regarding whitlock. some have said "good. he said what needed to be said". and thats fine. it all boils down to opinion. thats what you guys get paid for and its why i love sports and a good debate. and like you, i found a lot of truth with what cosby had to say. its the manner in which it is said. and cosby, who has done TONS in our community, is given credibility to speak on those issues. not without impunity, but with a certain amount of respect. whitlock? eh.....

Since Whitlock is so g**damn inconsiderate ...
http://sports.aol.com/whitlock/_a/hip-hop-serving-up-plan-for-failure/20070227103009990001

Okay, I read it and if you think you hated Whitlock before, you ain't seen nothing yet. Wowsers...
Full disclosure: I don't think much of Whitlock, he was a dick to one of my friends at the Big 12 championship game a few years back and since then I've always thought "Pricklock." But after reading that column my mind has been changed, turns out the truth may be fluid after all.
The only way to make the mythdom complete for Whitlock now is to get a cap put in his ass, 'cause the only way I read this is you just said the hip-hop communtity is based on homosexual practices learned in prison.
And
Is what I bolded for real? That's pretty f***ing strong.
