That's the thing with you feeble-minded folks.

    Intelligence is threatening, thus dismissed.

I mentioned it on the other Sportsbruh thread, but thought I should post it here. Obviously, Whitlock should get full credit for sparking this AP story.

I am reminded that it was Kanye West who encouraged young black people not to get an education.

    Agreed.

Whitlock accomplished the mission by using the term and guaranteeing hot-blooded discussion.

While the term isn't "the" truth, it is based in a truth.

You know what's funny, I deleted the part where I pre-emptively stated "what's next? You're going to throw HIS money in my face?"

This was expected. The broke always ride for the money of the rich.

In case you're unaware, money doesn't buy you insight.

When you learn who Bill Cosby is, you can return.

For the record, Mr. Cosby handpicked two students who are coached by a very close friend of mines out in Springfield, Mass and provided them with scholarships to attend Hampton University.

I respect his investments but disagree with his current day insight of what's going on in our community.

The housing projects of his origins Mr. Cosby routinely speaks that he left 50 years ago do not reflect its current day make up. The only thing similar is the name of the housing development. Mr. Cosby is very short on speaking on the conditions and economic changes within those 50 years since he left those rusted gates.

And thats where my problem lies with him. I rather look for more credible sources to spark change. Not an out of place rant.

wow. you know thats really groundbreaking. its not like we havent heard and echoed some of the same things for years. the same with the whitlock article. do you actually think that this is the 1st time we have heard of such. do you really think this was a wake-up call. there are a great many of us, the refugees as we have been called, that do care about our community. not only do we care how we are represented, but also how we represent ourselves. and while we may not have the platform that Mr. Whitlock has, we also dont distance ourselves from the problem.

MavRick, you say you care about how you represent yourselves, but where we are, we're seeing too many instances of that not being the case.

    Incredible.

You act like he has been intertwined with Princeton or Harvard for the past 35 years and not, in fact, Temple University.

If you don't think his criticisms are valid, you are stoned crazy.

For MavRick and our other new friends, the blue font, as in the post above, is used hereabouts to indicate sarcasm. It's hard to play a new course without a primer on the local rules. Welcome.
