Dude, I'm like most of middle America. I'm not in the big city every day. I see what gets noticed by the masses. I'm not dumb enough to think that the ugliness is an absolute, and I'm not dumb enough to think that everyone agrees with the more decadent aspects of hip-hop society.

I'm also not dumb enough to think that when we see what goes down at an event like NBA All-Star Weekend, the entire genre doesn't receive a black eye.

I also HEAR rap lyrics when I listen to it. It's not the genre's best selling point.

And I apologize for the "you." It was meant in a group sense, which in itself may not have been fair.
