    Are you serious?

We've been acknowledging these problems for years. I attended an acknowledgment session called the Million Man March. We came in empty handed, got swept up by the we need to do something rhetoric, spent our dollars on some nice hats and pins and left with NO agenda on the table.

You guys really think Whitlock is outside the norm of speaking on our issues.

How about I pull up 50 page long discussions on our issues from that hiphop site dating back to 99'?

Or maybe you're the ones stuck on the hand picked and media appointed Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson apologists that hit the airwaves When was the last time you've seen anyone without a gray beard standing behind either of those poverty pimps? The hiphop community dislikes those old farts, yet, they're trumpeted by the powers that be as representations of collective voices.

I'm sorry. I'm not giving credit to Whitlocks lazy journalism as something NEW. I've been hearing the same old song and dance of our problems for years.

Horrible STAB. Even your Obama tirade is media generated garbage that poorly reflects our true thoughts.

Let me post a conversation I had with those of your ilk that wrote an article along your limited lines of thinking.

    I'll pull it up shortly.

here's my stab. sohh is like most things, there are good parts and not so good. 1 thing that you have to understand is that most of them are kids. second thing that you have to understand is that its the internet. its the perfect escape from real life. so alot of the folks play dress up.

now, as to why i go......thats easy. the Coliseum. its the only place that i can get the opinion on sports without a "media" slant. lets be real......where am i going to find views on sports given by people in my culture. and i said culture, not race, because hip hop isnt a black thing. but of course, yall knew that. anyway.....where do i get to hear or read or see those views? sports talk radio. 3 hrs of the 2 Live Stews, who admit that they arent the strongest as far as sports knowledge? nope. most sports radio hosts are anti-urban/hip hop, if anything at all. i get tired of hearing about how NBA players are thugs for fighting but the same people will praise and guffaw over the evenings hockey or baseball scrums.

print......scoop jackson. boumani jones. who else. and whitlock would say that theyre bojanglin, anyway.

television.....if i have to subject to stuart scott's forced attempts at being "down", i will poke my eyes out...

so the coliseum at sohh gives me an outlet to talk sports with people who see it like i do. now i am sure that some super sleuth will wander over there and pick the most idiotic thread and bring it back over here as exhibit A. but the real truth is, i have learned more, not just about sports but about society, by posting and interacting with some of the folks over there. i am a member of several different boards (clublexus, insidecarolina, sportsjournalist...hahaha) but the coliseum is by far the most entertaining and informative. just sayin....

Thank you--I appreciate your answer. Just as there are people here who only post on the Jobs board or the movie threads. I get it.

So I guess my other question is this: When you see threads about 'Do hos clean their pusses' (just an example, you get my point), do you ever want to go over there and say 'What the fuck is wrong with you people?'

You think we aren't on our job?

We're forever on that site putting the misguided in their place.

We're just not like many of you who think they should be quarantined.

    Good response MavRick.

And you'll get bonus points from some here for your Stuart Scott comment. Interesting that he's not connecting with your culture, either.

If site has a lot of kids as you say then message that Whitlock has put out should be on the home page for all to read.

Instead Whitlock is made fun of and called an uncle tom by the enablers of your membership.

Something is wrong with a site that attracts kids and gansta rappers are glorifield and thoughtful writers like Whitlock are put down with the worst insults possible.

What kind of message is that for the kids?

I don't think anything, Chee, except that you're unnecessarily defensive.

see thats the thing i guess you guys dont get.......just because we dont sit up on a pulpit and denounce the actions of our folks, and lay them on a spit for everyone to see, doesnt mean that we arent trying to correct it. the whitlocks of the world think it best to criticize and critique all the while putting no effort behind those words. thats bullshit. and its a major part of the reason that the problems exist. get away from it, and never go back. and even worse, criticize it from the other side of the tracks. as ive said, who does it serve???

Be sure not to rush to generalizations about those whom you address. And no one is asking you to give credence to reporting you find lazy and inept.
I would disagree with your opinions on the million man march. Those who are truly listening to this argument now are those who merely heard it 12 years ago.

sorry, Whitlocks condesending tone of admonishment did little but draw the ire of people.

What makes these folks "enablers"? By not joining along at Whitlocks careless finger pointing?

You guys are of the George Bush tribe. Either you're with us, or against us.

    There's a huge gray area you're dismissing.
