$5.1 million, according to the Bham News.

Can't disagree, but Cutcliffe goes to four bowls in five years and he's gone ... and it's one in four since. That it might work out OK does not make it a good fire. It makes them lucky bastards who still missed the postseason three consecutive years.

I think you misunderstand my point, which was that Sweatervest, too, would be gone if he couldn't beat Michigan and lost 10 in two. Agreed, the odds of that happening are slim (or none).

Yea, that seems impossible if for no other reason than the state of Michigan under Rick-Rod
Still, say Sweatervest went 7-5 and won a bowl game next year and followed it up with 8-4 and lost a bowl game (giving him ten losses in two years). And say he loses to Michigan in that last year. You think he's gone? Really?

Either way, that's silly money to make someone go away.

And isn't Auburn still paying a couple former coordinators? That's a lot of money tied up in three former coaches.

How much can Auburn afford to pay its next head coach?

Just curious, what is Auburn known for academically? Other than being known as an ag school, I can't think of anything.

Which means their national reputation is based solely on their football. Which means Auburn might be the dumbest university in a major conference based on how said football team is run.

And I don't get the appeal of Bobby Petrino. Lou Saban and Larry Brown laugh at his wanderlust and Randall "Tex" Cobb's character from Raising Arizona admires his mercenary ways.

I dunno - the first thing hat comes to mind when I hear Auburn is their famous basketball player Chris Morris

I think they've put more astronauts in space than any other school — seriously.

Got well-thought-of veterinary medicine and pharmacy programs, too.

As much as the well-known boosters can scrape . . . which is considerable.

At what point does the economic mess affect coaching salaries?

We're already seeing the economy hurting ticket sales, sponsorships and endorsements. So at some point it'll have to hit the coaches, right?

This statement, more than anything else on these five pages, sums up the stupidity of the tractor-driving, pig-fucking crowd at Auburn.

"Well, sheee-it, hoss, *jet of tobacco juice* we wanted to dump that peckerwood years ago *wipes nose on shirt sleeve* but he kept winning nine games, kicking Alabama's ass and going to New Year's Day bowl games every damn year.

Ruby Jean, what the fuck did you do with my bottle of Maker's?"

    Fucking rubes.

Pretty harsh - but to be expected. I can tell by your Avatar that you're a staunch supporter of Alabama reserve tight end Charles Hoke.
