Considering that Carter and Gaddis have recently had children, it's pretty obvious that among many other things the Tampa Tribune and Media General are anti-family.

That makes me want to punch someone right in the Twitter - and no not the intern.

Were they waiting for the All-Star break, or for the Rays to drop put of first place?

That's the same thing I was thinking. Are they targeting the people whose insurance policies cost the company more money? Makes one wonder, doesn't it?

You'd like to think they've sunk to a new low... then they find ways to go lower...

This is the very definition of irony. The souls of newspaper reporters and editors run deeper than the oceans, yet the souls of their bosses, those glass-officed newspaper executives, couldn't fill a dixie cup.

My thoughts are with Scott and Carter. Media General... karma's a bitch.

Someone said to me in that half-kidding way, Cripes, makes you wonder if they targeted anybody with "Carter" in the name.
I told them I'd laugh, too, except it would not surprise me one little bit. So, how we going to do this? Oh, I don't know *** Carter and Carter.
I wish I was joking around. There's no rhyme, no reason to any of it.

I've defended that company, one that paid me well for more than 30 years, very vigorously at times. I cannot defend this nonsense in any way.

I've worked with Carter when I worked in Florida... don't think I've met him face-to-face. This just sucks colossal ass. There is no fucking excuse for this crap. I hope the management in Tampa gets everything they deserve and that it is a slow, painful justice.

I guess I'm not sure how getting axed in Orlando feels much different than getting axed in Tampa. Because Orlando gave people a couple of week's notice??

Coupled with the lack of a lovely and talented lightning rod for people to throw darts at.

And a severance package that presumably consists of more than a box of Cheez-Its.

Christ. Carter was an excellent writer. Oh well, guess that doesn't count anymore in this business.

Rot in hell, Tribune. You gave two great writers nothing but a dumping in the last couple weeks.
