Maybe this was mentioned earlier but...Andy Staples has now commented on the intern's blog. Good stuff.

In the comments below what she wrote. Others have also weighed in.

EDIT: Sxy beat me to it.

That's kind of what I've been thinking.

I also admire her spunk (really) and her fresh-faced view of saving the news business.

I'll bet there are quite a few people ripping her on this thread right now who also thought they had all the answers when they were her age.

After reading some of her recent posts, all I can think of is the old Chevy Chase line on Weekend Update ... "Jane (Jessica), you ignorant ----!"

Spunk is great. But thinking you know all the answers, and wanting to cheer "You go girl!" after people get laid off ... well, that's just obnoxious.

I would say that if any of her now-former colleagues at the Tampa Tribune have read her blog, they are not admiring her spunk.

If someday she's on the same end of what they're getting, let's see then if she's thinking, "You go, girl."

    DOH!

    One of those days. Thanks.

Excellent comments by AS. This girl is in for a rude-awakening among the staff but it's inspiring to know that her ass-kissing did not go unnoticed by the ME.

    Sick.

    Spot-on.

If she hadn't made a name for herself in that newsroom by now for her propensity to suck-up, she has definitely made an impression today.

I'm thinking someone might just make an impression on her noggin.
