So much for that one. And I'm sorry I was guilty of it earlier.

OK, everyone, slowly back away from the quote function.

OOP, you complain about being called a fanboy with regard to the Steelers yet you didn't hesitate to call me a San Francisco Giants fanboy. I guess it's different when you do it?

Tarheel, try actually reading my post and understanding it before you reply next time. Ragu went on this long rant about how terrible and condescending it was for me to say he was letting his heart get in the way of his head. I was providing an example of how it happens all the time here, so if he's going to complain about it, he should say something no matter who it happens to.

It is an unfortunate part of the way this place operates. To tell me that I have to take it from others, but I can't say it to him is hypocritical.

OOP, I get what you're saying. But you didn't hesitate to call me a Giants fanboy yet you get upset because someone calls you a Steelers fanboy. Isn't that being hypocritical?

Except I'm not getting upset about it. It happens too often here for me to allow it to upset me any more. If people are going to be too stupid to see past what team I root for that I have a point, as I did in that example with Goodell, that is their failure, not mine. That doesn't mean I won't argue with it, but I know it's coming and I realize it is part of the discourse on this board.

Fanboys aren't always wrong, but they still have to make a strong case when they argue a point. If anything, they have to make an even stronger one.

That is kind of my point with Ragu regarding Carew on this thread. He hasn't argued his point well enough for me to think he is doing anything but allow his heart to rule his head.

They beat the Steelers twice, once before injuries decimated Pittsburgh's backfield, and won the Super Bowl. The Steelers were better than the Raiders so many other years in that decade. I can give that one. :)
