DMB's not that bad, and nothing they've done the last five years has been as gratingly ubiquitous as Use Somebody by Kings of Leon.

Was hoping for Arcade Fire but they're in another good place -- the fricking studio for a change. Target date is May.

Oh, and that's actually spelled Miike Snow. Looks like a typo but it isn't (like Larry Biittner).

Lots of good bands in that lineup.

And then there's ... Kris Kristofferson? He's still performing?

I guess the answer is yes; in fact, he'll be playing at the Riverside (Iowa) Casino this Friday, just south of Iowa City.

Great lineup. But my window for attending Bonnaroo have passed me by. I couldn't justify the cost and mudding my way through the sea of humanity there.

I agree with you on the second part. Don't like their new stuff at all.

The Dropkick Murphys, Stevie Wonder and John Fogerty would make this worth the price of admission by themselves.

And DMB is one of the most overrated groups in the history of music.

I've been to Bonnaroo a few times (as fan and writer), and it's not as bad as people think it is. You're not too old to go, people do bathe ... but yes, the one thing is as bad (or good) as people think it is: there is stuff there High Times hasn't even heard of yet.

But back to the music ... Dave's radio stuff sucks. He's totally different live. And then he's even more different than that when playing in this type of setting.

Pearl Jam, for example, put on a insane concert two years ago with a rendition of All Along the Watchtower, that I swear lasted for 15 minutes. And it was mind blowing. But you've got to expect that kind of stuff with bands that teeter on the edge of jam, such as Dave, which will make him decent.

Overall, I was disappointed with this year's lineup. There's a few great bands I'd love to see, but there's not just that one band where I'm selling plasma to get there.

My darkhorse on that lineup is John Prine.

... and for the record, there's scheduled to make another announcement today. In my opinion they still don't have the one other co-headliner yet. Kings of Leon won't be it. If I had to guess, they'd play Friday night, and DMB on Sunday.

I think the Saturday night show is still yet to be announced.

On second thought it could very well be Arcade Fire. I neglected to check the date of the festival.

    Disagreed.

DMB puts on a hell of a concert. But, of course, I'm a jam band fan.

Doesn't appear to be anything fresh on the Bonnaroo site tonight.
From the tenor of AF's fan site forum, May may be a little optimistic for an album. I just wonder if they hit the road in time to do the summer Euro festival circuit, like they did after Neon Bible, and come back in time for Austin City Limits in September.
