I just finished reading this book and it should be required reading before anyone steps into the voting booth in November. It's incredibly frightening and at the same time compelling. We really need to understand what's happened to us in this country. The writers are two-time Pulitzer Prize winners and the reporting in this thing is astounding.

I posted about this a while back. If you're an 80s pop culture person, you will LOVE this book!

    Sirs, Madames,

Recently read Headhunters by Norway's Jo Nesbo. Saw the movie when I was halfway through the book. I thought the movie was the most graphic and gruesome thriller I ever saw. As it turned out, it cleaned up certain parts of the book. Both were great (though substantially different at certain turns). Liked the book's end more than the movie's. The movie is going to be remade (and ruined) as a North American- rather than Oslo-based story.

    YHS, etc

I also recently read Headhunters. Thought it was good.

On the list for library ebooks of some of Nesbo's other stuff. Hoping it is decent. I don't expect that it will be as good as Stieg Larsson, but one can hope.

About a quarter of the way through "The Art of Fielding" right now. Great so far. Super easy read.

Just finished "The Kings of Cool," the prequel to "Savages." Very good writing.

Not Taco Bell Material - Adam Corolla

Mick - a bio of Jagger by Christopher Andersen

52 Loaves - William Alexander. Read a book of his about growing tomatoes and loved it, so I thought I'd try one about baking bread. I stink at both, maybe I'll learn something

The Fiddler in the Subway - Gene Weingarten

    Over Time - Frank Deford

    The 500 - Matthew Quirk

No Rest for the Dead - one of those compilation deals where 26 writers each take a chapter

Finished two John Sandford "Prey" novels on the kindle already.
