    why, 'cause he's black?

if you've ever listened to chris rock you would have been able to expect that

  2. Hoops --- Give Shotty a mulligan here. I think he was complimenting Rock based on the fact that SNL never EVER gave the man enough to do.

yeah, but it's not like rock disappeared between his snl stint and the time the book came out...

it is a good read, though

He did spend some time on In Living Color, doing to the skit about "How much can I get for a quarter?" or something like that.

Well, in between the racial epithets, I'm glad you agreed it's a good read. ::)

    In fact, blow me, Hoops.

    Unless you were kidding.

In which case, you can just bite me.

    i wasn't kidding...

why is it surprising rock is 'thoughtful' and 'well-spoken'

based on his body of work, i'd expect it... why wouldn't you?

or did you just have anthony michael hall on the top of your 'well-spoken' list?

    or chris kattan as 'thoughtful'

Not that I owe you any explanation, you pompous asshole, but I was going simply by what I have seen on SNL, where he never played a character with any depth or intellect.

As far as his real-life persona goes, I'll wait until you come out with your book, "Kissing Ass: A Guilty Honky's Discussion on African-American Intellectuals."

i just want that here for when you re-read it and decide to delete it... nothing i could respond could make you look worse than you already did... congrats

Nope. That's not going to work. The onus is on you.

Sorry, Hoops. After a while, people tire of the pseudo-intellectual, the "enlightened man" who goes around pointing fingers: "Are you racist?" "Are you racist?"

Especially when there's no basis for it.

Well, this is certainly what I had in mind when I started this thread.

I'm currently reading Jerry Bailey's book and wishing I wasn't. But I have a personal rule about starting a book and not finishing it. If I hit page 50, I'm finishing.

Why is February Black History Month?

Because The Man won't give us 30 days!!
