Haven't they already done a ton of work on the stadium itself?
This is shaping up as a classic clusterfuck, but for better or for worse I think they're committed now.

Braves are moving. Only the clueless would think Manfred would or even could step in..

Yeah, it's not like they're moving to a different market and abandoning Atlanta. And there's no uncertainty about a new stadium being built. It is being built, even if it's not in an ideal location. No reason for MLB to nix the deal.

FYI, the superstructure is all but complete. They laid in the top-most piece of steel last week, and the seating terraces are nearly complete. My guess is they'll begin seat installation and aesthetic work inside two months. I understand the Chick-fil-A cow has already made the move. She couldn't stand what was going on at the Ted.

That's a nice thought, but at some point MLB had to sign off on all this, right?

MLB is not getting into the business of stopping now owners from getting new stadiums, especially since the Braves are locked into a crappy local TV deal. Let's move on from this asinine suggestion MLB could have stopped this.

Forget about could, MLB never would have stopped this. They have no reason to make teams turn down free or heavily subsidized stadiums that increase the value of the franchises.

If I owned a house there, I think I'd sell now, before the full scope of this quality-of-life disaster emerged and home values plummeted.
