Mike's speech was just as good or better than the ending. It's criminal that this compelling television isn't being seen by more people.

Though I will say this ... the pace of the change in characters this season has been more abrupt than Season 2, but that's a quibble I can live with to watch something like that.

Personally, I kept waiting for it to all be a meth-induced hallucination. As everyone is drawing their guns and aiming he snaps out of it, awake in his car, and the cliffhanger is either him weighing the choice to go through with it or not; or he's cocking the gun and getting out of the car, and we find out what happens next week.
For it to end the way it did ... wow. It was a good 10 or 15 seconds after the show ended that I picked my jaw up off the floor and remembered to breathe.

Sadly, only one more new episode until next March. It is a two-hour (well, an hour an 47 minutes) at least.

That needed to happen or else the show was going down. Can't have the show for long without both Jesse and Walt. Can't wait to see what happens next.

"Murder is not part of your 12-step program."

Also, Skylar looking at money laundering on Wikipedia was a fine homage to Office Space. I love the well-placed humor in this show almost as much as the drama.

Now that I've had the overnight to think about it, yeah, when Walt picks the gun up off the ground and just coolly shoots the guy through the head, and then ends the show with single word -- "Run." -- just pretty amazing, shocking, great stuff.

And I really love Marie now. Another character who has gone from a minor-character ditz to something else again.

Am I the only one who expected Marie to mimic Wendy/Windy (in the opening) to win her bet with Hank?

  7. All I know is that poor Walt is never going to get that damn windshield fixed.

I kind of like the way she went the other direction with a smile on her face, like, "You don't think I can do this? Think again."

By the way, in answer to my now-dumb question, the actress in question is named Julia Minesci (not Margot Kidder, although I think she looks like Margot might look if made up for the character). This was found on a place called the Breaking Bad wiki, and according to IMDB, she has been in ... "Breaking Bad." And not one other thing.

I read on the L.A. Times blog that she's an Albuquerque local.

I thought at first that she might have poisoned Tomas with the burgers, but obviously not.

Next week's episode title has me stoked after watching "Half Measures". It's called "Full Measures".

sepinwall: the finale is actually only about 48 minutes and will run straight through with minimal commercials. The long timeslot is because AMC is following the finale with a sneak preview of the "Rubicon" pilot.

I honestly can't decide if that's disappointing or a relief. I'm almost thinking the latter; I don't know if I could do close to two hours of that show as intense as it's likely to be.
