    Great episode. Mike, Mike, Mike!
Also, they should have called the episode "Franch."

Others have mentioned this, but it is a joy to watch Mike do the most mundane things. Whether it's feeding chickens, reading a newspaper, eating meatloaf or opening a beer, there's a competence that is fun to watch almost as much as him being an expert killing machine.

Walter is becoming so creepy around Skyler that it makes me squirm. It's the feeling they introduced when Walt was in the crawl space cackling. I think that's the moment he truly snapped into this final, almost demonic character.

I've been a Jonathan Banks fan ever since he put a bullet in Mikey Tandino's head outside Axel Foley's apartment ...

  4. I just love that the name Saul Goodman is a contraction of the phrase "Its all good man"

The BB Insider podcast said that they actually had to cut the Walt-Skyler scene down some for time reasons.

Give what Walt and Jesse make, as well as Mike's longer tenure, I would have thought that Mike would have had far more than $2mm in the bank for his grandaughter.

I'd say $2 million is a fat chunk of change given Mike's situation. There are a few factors. Walt and Jesse are the most important people in that operation, so they make more than Mike, regardless of how important he is. Do we know how long Mike has worked for Gus? Plus, Gus was paying at least 11 other guys, keeping a share for himself, and Madrigal was certainly getting a cut. Plus, that $2 million is just one bank account. Maybe Mike has some in a mattress. Ha.

Mike was an on-the-books employee of Los Pollos Hermanos, so I'd assume he was drawing a legit salary in addition to his Caymans cash. It probably ain't anywhere near $2 mil, though.

I am surprised he needs that money enough to stay in business with a loose canon like Walt. He could just eat the loss and probably still make a living as a PI, and since he was willing to walk before it seems to go beyond pure greed or enjoyment of the business (which seems to be why Walt's still in it). My bet is there's some money situation with his granddaughter that isn't clear to the audience yet. Or possibly something related to whatever happened in Philly. I really hope they explore that some more now that Mike's a more central character.

Seinfeld episode "The Mom and Pop Store," airing right now on TBS. That was Bryan Cranston's first appearance as Dr. Tim Whatley. Amazing the transformation he's made over the years.

Aaron Paul acts exactly as you think he would as a contestant on The Price is Right 14 years ago:

Could what happened in Philly be the incident that Mike was talking about in his "half measures" speech in season 3?
