Walt told her about the train because he knows he's going to get rid of her. Skyler's dead.

Ms. SixToe and I along with Jr. SixToe were watching. When the kid waved, Ms. SixToe said "Uh-oh. Surely not ... "

No witnesses means no witnesses. But there are too many of them already and the list is getting bigger: Mike's crew in prison, Lydia, Skylar, anyone she's told, Jesse, Mike, Todd and the 'stalled' dump truck driver. Hell, that's at least 15. Lot of dead bodies on the way.

Hiding the body of an adult seems easier. The body of a kid, AND a motorcycle? And where the fuck does a pre-teen kid come from on a dirt bike out in a desert? Wasn't this train crossing and dry wash in the middle of nowhere?

Another thing: they buried those two tanks in a dry wash by the trestle. When it rains and floods, the top of those tanks could be exposed and discovered. Maybe.

The kid was in the opening scene. He was riding around looking for tarantulas. Caught one, then heard the train.

  3. I think he was asking how or why a kid would be so far out in the desert where it seems that there are no homes or any businesses anywhere close. I guess we're supposed to believe the kid lives out in the middle of nowhere but it did seem strange that he's out there.

The kid riding around in the desert isn't a stretch at all. He could be from 10-15 miles away. I grew up in NM and we used to ride dirt bikes around in the desert all the time. We'd go quite a ways from home, too. I also had a pet tarantula that I found in the desert when I was 11. Hell, this kid could have been me.

Except you clearly were not shot to death by a methylamine-boosting train robber ...

Yeah, if he were on a bicycle, that'd be one thing, but motorcycle greatly expand's a kid's range.

I had completely forgotten about the spider-hunting kid until the final scene. That was the point ... we as viewers were supposed to be giddy and/or relieved along with Walt, Jesse, Mike and the boys following another successful caper.

Then they brought us back to reality, and damn quick.

Killing the kid presents its own challenges. His family will come looking for him within hours. Authorities shortly thereafter. You better believe choppers will be in the air. If the chemical is not loaded on the truck and shipped out of there within minutes of killing the kid, shit gets really complicated quickly.

There's also no good option regarding dealing with the kid's body.

They can't dissolve the kid can they?!?!

From the looks of next week's preview, it appears they try to bury him.

Mike pointed out that, to rob the train, they would have to kill the employees. And Mike voted against robbing the train, basically for that reason. No, I don't think he would be ok with killing the kid.

This episode was BB at its best. An outrageous criminal plot, something throws a wrench in it, they pull it off anyway, but there's a catch. I know if you think about it, killing the kid isn't out of character for this show, but you don't see that happen very often in television so it's still a shock to your system. Especially how quickly it went down.

After the opening scene and with the train horn sounding right before the intro, once they were planning the train heist you knew the kid was going to play a part somehow.

    Damn... That was crazy...

Had the FNL kid been on Breaking Bad before? I know Bill Burr had been on a few before. Always good to see him get some TV work.

  12. He first appeared this season as part of the house crew that Walt is working with to set up the on the go labs. I think this is maybe his third appearance or so.
