Odds are that in the week or so before the final episodes begin airing, AMC will run the first part of the season a couple of ways.

Over the summer, they ran 2 or 3 episodes a night after midnight for several nights each week starting with season 1, episode 1, allowing new fans to watch every episode.

Then, on the day before the season started, they ran a marathon of the previous season. I could easily see them doing that with the first half of the season.

Amazon instant video has the first eight episodes for I think 11.99 versus 2 bucks an episode at itunes, etc.

I love the attention to detail, as mentioned previously. Someone on set must've noticed that whether due to unusual genetics or plastic surgery or who knows what that Lydia's nose moves every time she moves her lips, and they filmed that one scene at the cafe largely locked in side-view, and I just thought, I really appreciate that they are adding this extra, distracting dimension for no reason.

Personally, I think the reason everyone hates Skyler is not because she's being wronged, but because she was scripted to have inauthentic reactions from the beginning. In season one and even two, when her cancer-stricken husband is skipping work and disappearing for long stretches at a time, she somehow doesn't think it's worth bringing up? And then she gets all snippy about it? She is essentially written to be an illogical character who will therefore frustrate. As if in 2000s America she couldn't just take the kids and move to a different locale, and leave all this mess behind, returning for various family court dates, etc. Again, she is written this way on purpose.

They must be finishing up principal photography on the series this week, based on Twitter buzz from cast members:

Obviously late to the party, but I just finished the first half of season 5 (watched the first four seasons in quick succession last fall and waited for it to be reshown on AMC).

While I think the season as a whole wasn't quite on par with a few of the previous seasons it was still very good. And I thought the last episode was amazing. I've seen it mentioned a few times here by others, but I really think that final scene was about as powerful as the end of season 4.

I'm glad I only have to wait until July now. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I keep seeing characters from this series everywhere, particularly Dean Norris and the kid who played the two-bit meth dealer that they conscripted into their operation. He's been on NCIS as an NCIS agent, which is really strange if you saw him on BB.

Here's an interview with Vince Gilligan about the show and the upcoming season. I'm not going to lie, as one of the few defenders of Skyler, I enjoyed Gilligan's answer about those who think she's a bitch: http://www.vulture.com/2013/05/vince-gilligan-on-breaking-bad.html.

You can't introduce a character with a scene about tofu bacon, then try to make it off like you never expected everyone to hate her.

I just finished season 5(a) last night. It is on Netflix DVD if anybody still uses that method.
