That was made even better by the follow-up a few moments later, when he says hello to her and she cheerfully waves back. A little moment that gives you a small taste of just how bad the coming shitstorm is going to be.

I disliked that. The show has lost some of it's subtlety this season. Ideally, Carol's warm greeting would have happened back in Season 1 or in a few episodes, not long before Walt is exposed.

I think the pacing of BB was brutally slow early on, so much so that I would've stopped watching if I wasn't catching up via Netflix.

My answer to JD's question is yes, I think BB is still arcing up and what's on now is far superior to seasons 1 and 2. I'm not surprised at all they got to Hank/Walt right away....most shows would've done it years ago, never mind parsing it out through the final 8 episodes.

Sort of theorizing that it was a deranged, snapped Hank that ransacked Walt's house and scrawled Heisenberg on the wall....

Maybe Hank snaps, trashes the house and kills Skylar and the kids?

  5. I completely disagree. It was a great finish to the season but far from a finish to the story. Way too many loose ends hanging around. No half measures has been a theme of the show and the show wasn't going to end on one either.

Yeah, that would have pissed me off. The only logical way for this show to end is for Walt to die.

Mad Men is a better-acted show. Parks and Recreation is, too.

Gunn has played nothing but one awful note the entire run. She finally showed a little range in Season 5. Norris spent three seasons doing a Michael Chiklis impression. R.J. Mitte is playing himself. Betsy Brandt is basically a cipher. The same could be said for almost every ancillary character.

    How did I become J2?

Not that I mind. I've been needing a cooler name.

Never watched P&R, but you're wrong about Mad Men. That show is 100 percent about the writing.

I disagree. Almost every actor in that much deeper cast is terrific. That's what makes it so much more impressive in terms of acting: Breaking Bad has about eight characters total. Mad Men has given 15-plus characters their own story lines, and almost all of them are terrific actors. January Jones stands out because she's not.

Gunn is the weakest part of the show by far... Every other prominent character is pretty close to perfect.

For instance, the actress playing Lydia is overacting every scene.
