They were on their way back from the bloodfest in Arizona. That's why you saw the New Mexico sign.

Ah! Didn't even think about that. Thanks. I thought maybe Uncle Jack thought Todd was talking too much, too loudly, and decided to wipe out the entire diner to cover their tracks.

Nah, it's pretty clear they need Todd to be their meth cook.

One other great small moment I wanted to point out: When Walt peels into the parking lot at the car wash, sprints to the front door, and then calmly walks in and comes up with an excuse to retrieve his gun from inside the coke machine.

Also, did anyone else think that Marie was going to believe Walt's "confession," that Hank was the real Heisenberg? We know she's not the most logical person in the world ...

No way. Marie is totally on board with Hank, probably too much so, and has finally seen both Walt and Skyler for the scumbags they've become. If anything, Marie is even more gung-ho to topple Walt than Hank is. Hank knows he still has rules to follow and a game to play to make sure everything sticks. Marie would be on board with just arresting him, without thinking through how everything needs to play out.

Didn't like this plot twist one bit. It relied too much on remembering a secondary plot element broadcast years ago. I swear as he was yelling at Saul I heard Brooke instead of Brock. I was thinking hey maybe that's the girl that was snuffed out by Walt. Way too confusing to retain the proper amount of tension at this juncture.

I disagree. It's one of the defining moments for Jesse. And keep in mind that the event was probably about four months ago in the Breaking Bad world. Brock was living with Jesse just a few episodes ago.

Jesse's biggest moments were Emilio's acid bath, Combo's death, Jane's death, Tomas' death, Brock's poisoning and Mike's death. But I think you could make a strong case that Brock's poisoning affected him most.

Anyone else having an issue with Todd using Walt's real name to his uncle at the diner? I thought that was a little, um, questionable. Wasn't the whole point of the Hisenburg name to avoid being ID'd?
Agreed that the rest of the episode rocked though. That was a lot of craziness in one hour. Can't believe all this shit is finally starting to come to a head though.

Walt's out of the game, and Todd's an idiot.

That's not what I was getting at. I don't remember Walt ever using his real name around Todd (though I could be wrong on that). I guess I'm just surprised anyone besides Jesse and Saul know who Walt really is.
Even if he is out of the game, I can't imagine that would be a good thing for the drug world to start hearing who Heisenberg really is.
One other thing about this episode. Could anyone have predicted that Jesse would find out about Walt poisoning Brock AND Hank would find out Walt paid his medical bills in the same episode?
Those were two big, slow-burning plot points that we were all curious to see happen. I wouldn't have guessed they would have come in the same hour.
So we've got, what, five episodes left? This is going to be insane.

That seems to be the way this show operates, lumping huge moments together.
