The series DVD set will include an alternate ending ...

I have no idea how Breaking Bad will end. I am fairly confident, however, that Better Call Saul is gonna suck.

FYI, my son calls Todd "Discount Matt Damon."

I was thinking the same thing. There just isn't enough depth of character there to carry an entire show on its own.

    Bob Odenkirk has never sucked.

HBO, Showtime and everybody else thought the concept of a HS science teacher becoming a meth kingpin was so ludicrous, nobody would even commit to one season of Breaking Bad.

AMC's suits took a chance and wound up making the other networks look like a bunch of dumbasses.

Does that mean Better Call Saul (or whatever they wind up calling it) will automatically be a hit? Nope.

But I don't blame them for taking a shot and seeing if Gilligan's hand is still hot.

Yup. I don't necessarily think it'll be great, but I'll be tuning in because Odenkirk is awesome.

It will be interesting to see where AMC goes as a network when Breaking Bad and Mad Men are done next year.

Nowhere good, it seems. They just canceled The Killing (again) and moved Hell on Wheels to the TV graveyard of Saturday night. I guess it's too early to tell on Low Winter Sun, but I quit watching after the pilot.

My guess is they ride "The Walking Dead" as long as they can, even if they keep changing show-runners every year.

Low Winter Sun's reviews continue to be negative, though I also gave up on it after the pilot.

A pretty good idea for AMC would be a drama series about the rise of New Hollywood in the 70s, the decline of the studio system, the rise of big directors...and of course the drugs etc. It would be a natural follow to Mad Men. Figure there might be a few stories there.
