She'd never even cried on the show until Marie tried to grab her and run a few episodes back.

Jesus. I held my breath for the last 20 minutes.

    Jesse's a dog on a chain.

Spoiler alert, blah, blah, blah ...

Watched the scene with Holly in the fire truck. I knew she'd be in there. I knew she'd be OK.

But still ... it hit me hard. The look on her face ... just killed me to my core.

The look on Walt's face in the changing room when she started saying, "Mama!" He couldn't hide the resentment in his face that she wanted her mother.

Bryan Cranston is on another plane.

Watching the rerun now. This thing feels like the most intense horror movie you'll ever watch. There's barely a scene where you don't expect someone to die. And even then, when it does happen, it's like a sledgehammer to the gut.
Hank, for instance. You knew it was coming, but my (and probably most people's) reaction was similar to Walt's.
When Jesse was on his knees and they cut to the buzzards, I kept waiting for the gunshot.
The knife fight with Skyler, I was expecting either her or Flynn to get stabbed.
Even the final sequence, I was expecting Walt to either toss the baby off a bridge or set the car on fire.

I have to agree with Evil Bastard (aka Chris_L). Walter's decisions on that phone call were very calculated and helped Skyler quite a bit. He also managed to make himself out to be the bad guy but never actually admit to doing anything. And he never tried to stab her or hurt her in any way during their knife-wrestling.

Family is all he has. Now he doesn't have it. The coyote trouncing across the street was a bit heavy-handed.

But that was an amazing episode.

I don't think he took Holly to hurt Skyler, or as leverage. He's always convinced himself that this was all about his family, and making sure they were provided for. But now he's played a huge part in getting his brother-in-law killed (whoops spoiler alert), his family has turned against him and the only family member who won't say "no" to him, only went along with him because he grabbed her. Holly represents the last fragment of his "motivation" - giving her up wasn't just an act of compassion to Holly, but also an admission by Hank to himself that this was really all about him wanting to show the world how smart he was.
Vince Gilligan describes the show as Mr. Chips transforming into Scarface. I almost think Willy Loman might be a more apt "before."
