He's sitting on top of her with the knife raised in a stabbing gesture when Walt Jr. tackles him. Maybe he wouldn't have stabbed her, but her certainly made her think he would have.

Right now I'm thinking a perfect ending to this show would be Walt Jr. unloading a gun in his father and then calmly sitting down to eat breakfast.

    Meth is a destructive motherfucker.

Glad that Vince and Co. are doing their best to drive that idea home as the show winds down.

“Walt, you’re the smartest man I know and you are too dumb to realize that he made up his mind 10 minutes ago,” Hank.

    Wow.

LOVED that line. Awesome moment. They just need to mint some new Emmys, because I don't know how you can decide between Hank and Jesse for best supporting actor. Both have had some AMAZING moments this season. And Mitte played the scene where he has his arm in front of his mom protecting and starts dialing the cops PERFECTLY. The look of hate in his eyes for his father was freaking powerful as hell. And Anna Gunn and Betsy Brandt have both been impressive this season, as well. This last episode should win for writing and directing, too.

There was some damn good acting in that show -- all around.

    Baby included.

I was awestruck by how great the performances were -- especially last night.

Dean Norris should be nominated for Best Actor. If he goes for Best Supporting Actor, though, he should win in a landslide barring something remarkable on another TV show. After not impressing me much in the first three seasons, he was very good in Season 4 and the first half of Season 5. But he has been flat-out amazing this half of the season, which is all that should be judged. I don't see how you can give the award to Aaron Paul unless he has an incredible final two episodes. (Obviously, I'd love to see someone top Norris. Maybe Noah Emmerich could on The Americans. But even if that happens, I doubt it will lead to beating a Breaking Bad character in the final season.)

On the directing, I liked how this past one was more straightforward visually. Worked really well. The previous couple had a lot of cool, stylistic shots but this one was raw.

Watched a little bit of "Talking Bad" last night, on which Norris was one of the guests. He made a good point about Hank. Early on, he was the show's comic relief (corny jokes, Schraderbrau, etc.), but once they brought in Saul for that, Hank was able to become a three-dimensional character.

    I thought the same thing.

It really wasn't until he started walking again after the Cousins' attack that he became a really good character. The rehab and depression and rock collection stuff was good, but when he started taking Hank along on stakeouts and seriously started putting things together, he became more fleshed out.
