I really thought it was a coyote. It had a very high gait.

I just went back and rewatched it and I'm sticking with a collie.

Without rewatching it, I thought what Saul was saying in the preview for next week was that if Walt didn't come back the authorities were going to come down on Skyler.

And I thought it was a dog, too big to be a coyote.

OK, rewatching, it was a dog. I guess rather than the lone hunter symbolism, it's Jesse on a leash and a dog out roaming free?

Here is Gilligan toasting the cast after the last scene.

I think this might be overstating the case a bit, but it's still an interesting read:

Gilligan gave an interview where he said Ozymandias is the best episode they ever did. I think in his heart that was the true series finale, and the last two episodes are going to be more conventional TV shoot em up stuff (Walt battles the Nazis, etc).

But, credit where it is due, Season 5B has been incredible. I had posted before that they should have shut it down with the last line of Season 4. Season 5A did nothing to make me change my mind. Season 5B is, to me, a close second to Season 4 as the best season of the show.

You have no good justification for this worry. Breaking Bad is never predictable.

With the caveat that season 5 can still move up (I'm treating it as a full season), my rankings for seasons are this:

    1. 3
    2a. 4
    2b. 5
    4. First 9 episodes (I think of that as the actual first season)
    5. Next 11 episodes

Edited to make anal people happy, and after thinking about seasons 1 and 2 more.

I think Ozymandias is the climax of the series and the next two episodes will be denouement to a large degree, but I don't think they will be in any way conventional TV stuff.
