Breaking Bad Season 5 Thread

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Batman, Jun 4, 2012.

  1. If Walt has disappeared and is off the radar completely, why would he return and put himself back on the radar to kill Jesse?

    Ricin is the silent killer.

Also, I don't think that's correct at all, TigerVols. I think Walt comes back to save Jesse. I have no theories about the ricin. He might even be using it on himself.

As I mentioned a few pages back, the final episode is entitled "Felina," which is the name of the love interest in the Marty Robbins song "El Paso."

El Paso is not only on the U.S.-Mexico border, it's also on the Texas-New Mexico state line. The hero in the song is shot and killed in the "badlands of New Mexico" while he's trying to get back to Rose's Cantina to "wicked Felina, the girl that I love."

"Felina" could be Walt's family, or it could be Jesse, or it could be the money, or it could be the blue meth.

Not the way I read that explanation at all. Walt had already sentenced Jesse to death. He gave the OK for the Nazis to put a bullet in his head. When Todd stepped in, Walt (and Jesse, too) knew it wouldn't be that quick, but would still be done in a day or two. Or at least that's what they figured, not realizing Todd was going to turn Jesse into a meth-cooking pet.
Figuring, however, that Jesse was a dead man, Walt took the opportunity to destroy Jesse's spirit out of spite. If he couldn't watch him die physically, he'd be the one to put the mental bullet in his head.

Not the ideal choice for suicide:

Ricin causes severe diarrhea and victims can die of shock. Death typically occurs within 3–5 days of the initial exposure.

I understand, but if Walt wants to ensure he dies after accomplishing a few things, that might be the way to go.

If he wants to ensure he dies, a gunshot is the way to go.
Quick and efficient, and there is no antidote.

    Ricin has no proven antidote.

Still ridiculous to assume he'd choose a long messy painful ricin death over a quick fatal blast to the brain.

Before you ascertain the ricin, you have to figure out why the house is abandoned.

I think it has to do with two things. One, Marie is killed when the Nazis go looking for the last bit of evidence (Jesse's phone) at Hank's place. That's going to be the best scene ever.

Because of that, and, because of the imminent threat of the return of Walt, and, because Walt's assets would likely be seized in a legal investigation, Skylar, et al, have to go into protection for their own good in exchange for providing states' evidence. Otherwise, she's just as fucked legally as he is, despite his phone call.

The wild card is Jesse, who can fuck it up for Walt's family if he frees himself from Todd. He knows the truth about Skyler's involvement and that she isn't a squeaky clean victim.

The ricin might be for Jesse. Or Walt might make another run at Brock to bring Jesse out in the open. The gun might be for anyone who knows Walt's connection to Jesse.

But we've established that a significant amount of time will have passed before Walt comes back, right?

There's no reason for Walt to think Jesse's still alive, is there? Like was said before, he thought it would a day or two before the Nazis got the info they wanted and offed him. Todd even said it shouldn't take but a day or two. Unless Walt somehow runs into blue meth on the street and finds out it's as pure as what he was cooking, there doesn't seem to be a reason for him to suspect that Jesse's not a corpse.
