The writer's theory about Walter White's white privilege was never more apparent when he was working his teaching job, then cleaning cars at the car wash on the side... and cleaning the rims of one of his students.

That author is aces - top notch stuff. Really cut to the heart of Breaking Bad.

Well, the other point about the call to the DEA is that it puts the manhunt for Walter White in New Hampshire, giving him a window to get back to New Mexico while everyone is searching for him on the other side of the country. My view, anyway.

So where's Walter's barrel of cash?

I would guess he left it and only took his $100,000 box. You wouldn't think he'd have time to hide it (you would think the walking and tacks in the snow would probably lead authorities to him pretty fast if he went back to an isolated area) and he certainly wouldn't have been able to take it with him. He plans on getting the rest back anyway, doesn't he?

I think that's just a happy side effect. When he made the call, he had no intention of going back to New Mexico. Then those Gray Matter bastards had to go and say he didn't mean anything.

Don't have a link handy, but did anyone see the Breaking Bad Pick 'Em Game apparently floating around on Twitter? A buddy sent it to me. It's pretty good if you like to gamble. Sixteen characters. You pick whether they live or die. One point for each correct pick. For those you think will die, you guess who kills them for an additional two points. You then guess who the ricin is used on as the tiebreaker.

Walter, Skyler, Jesse, Marie, Walt Jr, Saul, Todd, Uncle Jack, Lydia, Brock, Vacuum Repair Guy, Elliott, Gretchen, Holly, Huell, Badger.

It suggests $5 per sheet if you can round up enough people for a league. A buddy and I are just betting head-to-head for cheap Walgreens beer. Much better.

OK, so with the series winding down, what are everyone's top 5 episodes. Here are mine (with spoilers in case someone who hasn't actually watched is reading this thread):

    1) Ozymandias: Possibly best episode of television ever. A lot of payoff from the buildup of the series here.
    2) Full Measure/Half Measures: A lot of great stuff in here and an awesome cliffhanger at the end leaving you wondering what's going to happen to Jesse and Walt after Jesse pulls the trigger at the end. I group the two together because they run like one really long episode.
    3) Fly: I know plenty of people didn't like this one, but the one-on-one acting just pulls me in every time I watch it.
    4) Crawl Space: Walter breaking down at the end is classic.
    5) Face Off: Best death scene I've ever seen on TV, and you get a look at the depths Walt has sunk to by poisoning the kid.

OK, what's everyone's guess for how Walt & Jesse end up at the end of the finale?

    1. Walt lives, Jesse dies
    2. Jesse lives, Walt dies
    3. Both live
    4. Both die

    I'm going with #2.

Both die. I want it to be No. 2, though.

I lean toward No. 2 but there's no way Jesse's life can be good at all if he makes it. I guess unless the vacuum cleaner dude can get him a new beginning.
