No moreso than all the other engineering feats Walt pulled during the course of the show.

The show was engaging enough that I suspended my disbelief to accept the train robbery so I did not have a problem with the robot machine gun.

To Mizzou's poing upthread about this way there can be no BB movie...

How do we know Walt is dead? When the movie comes out we will see that the paramedics saved Walt and after a short stint in prison he goes back to ABQ to carry on with a whole bunch of whacky adventure :)

Jack was a scummy Neo-Nazi drug dealer, but in his own mind at least, he had some honor. He gave Walt some of his money back and he let Todd do his thing with Lydia. Even with the pest control company, they actually fumigated the house.
To Jack, though, Jesse was a snitch -- an even lower piece of shit than he himself was. To Jack, Jesse had no honor. So when Walt insinuated that they were working together, it was a painful insult. He needed to defend his honor. Walt masterfully pushed the right button (something he's been good at throughout the series) and Jack played right into his hands.

    This.

Upon reflection, Walt gave his family nothing but misery in the end. As Rick says, that lotto ticket thing won't work for Skyler. I don't think there's a deal there to be cut. Trying to see how that conversation would go.

"I know the whereabouts of Hank and Gomie's bodies, but I'll only tell you if you drop the charges."

    "You're under arrest for aiding-and-abetting ..."

Not to mention, it would put Skyler in a morally reprehensible position of using knowledge for a kind of power that Walt felt totally comfortable with, but she didn't.

Walt's plan is just his ego and pride telling him he gave Skyler leverage. He gave her shit.

I don't think the Gretchen & Elliott Gerber Grow-Up Life Plan will work either. Pretty sure the feds would have their way with it.

Besides misery, the only thing Walt gave his family was closure of a kind.

I don't feel bad for Skyler.

Hell, Walt Jr is 10 months away from taking his crutches and buying an island, so his life won't be too bad either...

I feel bad for Holly. She has to live with Skyler for the next 18 years. :D

  7. One thing that has surprised me about this final season is the amount of complaining people have about Walt using science and his brain to give himself an advantage. I can understand the argument. What I can't understand is why people seem to just now be complaining about it. The show established pretty early on that Walt was going to have to use his brain to get himself out of tough spots. He's done it throughout the show. I suppose it's been amped up in this season because it was so plot heavy as it sprinted toward a finish but I don't see it as going way off the rails from what it's always been in this regard.

Does anyone think Walt Jr is the way he is because Skyler smoked while she was pregnant?

Very few "good people" at this party.

It was funny, I was listening to Gilligan on Hardwick's Nerdist podcast and he was talking about how surprised he is how many people continue to sympathize with Walt no matter all of the crazy things he did...

In the end, he accomplished what he set out to do in the beginning... Provide for his kids after his death.... By any means necessary...

    Walter White is a hero!!!

My only question was why Walt removed the wristwatch. I actually had to Google that.

Turns out, they'd filmed him in Denny's without it, so they had to have it come off for continuity.

Yeah, Gilligan said that on "Talking Bad" last night.
