Stop. Please, just stop. For the love of God, STOP! Don't let logic or facts screw up Manky's argument.

I think this captures the appropriate sentiment ... Dude has carried himself well and made remarkably few missteps in a HOF career. Argue his relative skill levels all you want but there's really nothing to hate about the guy. Resent maybe, but not hate.

For me, it's just weird watching the Yankees in October without Mariano and him.

All my Yankees friends keep screeching about how great they are. This year, every year. And yet here they are again, swerving closer to the off ramp before the World Series interchange.

Great-looking team, I agree. This year, every year. But I love it every time that huge payroll falls short.

In case you missed this one, Donald Trump blames this injury on karma:

@realDonaldTrump Derek Jeter had a great career until 3 days ago when he sold his apartment at Trump World Tower- I told him not to sell- karma?

I think he deleted it off his timeline, but jesus, his tweets are all over the map insane. Not quite Jim Irsay bad, but up there.

Because Jeter has limited range and ARod was the better fielding shortstop?

That would be the reason most people would argue.

Unless the need to coddle your prima donna fan favorite trumps putting the guy with better range at the position that requires better range.

Link? It's not on ESPN yet, which is why I ask. If that's true though, that's a major screw-up on the Yankees' part. They can't afford to have two doctors look at the x-ray / MRI before making the roster move? I realize they probably only had 12 hours or so to decide on a roster move, but still.

    I'm guessing Petty is joking.

I can't tell what's real and what's not, man. My world is shaken without Derek Jeter in it.
