    One of my biggest pet peeves in the news industry: The use of BREAKING NEWS when the news is over 12 hours old.

    Hey numbnuts, only one story is the “Top” story.

    I used to rib the CNN folks when they'd call about NASCAR from across the building: "I need to tell you in advance, this is only slightly dented news. It's quite possible it will be repaired by the time you air it."

    It’s too late. You can never get that trust back. They hit the dopamine button so many times it’s broken.
